Four years on

Two souls thrown together for a while,
two mortals sharing glances with a smile,
a joint endeavour to achieve the goal,
to give one’s all - not just to play a role -
infuses mutual tenderness with hope
when rational beings would fain in darkness grope;
is it truth that baffles?
I look and yet turn away,
I feel and fail to understand,
reality begins another day
and still I yearn for touch of hand -
oh, summon once again dynamic visions
unfettered by the need for base decisions;
will we ever see Raffles?
