Now is the time that matters to my soul.
We know not when our final hour will be,
nor when temporal happiness will fail
and those around with lamentations wail,
imploring Heaven’s host with futile pleas
to make the fragmentations once more whole;
and so I vow I’ll stay.
To live for every minute is the thing -
not count the cost that wasted seconds bring.
Each day is precious from its very dawn:
intense should be our happiness and pain
if all our life is not to be in vain -
and joyfully I’ll wake with every morn
to see another day!
