The Golden Parachute

A glistening, shimmering ripple in the sky,
descending, gliding, dares perchance to fly,
confusing poetry with metaphor
while dancing on the soul of inspiration,
drifts into imagination’s gaze
within a multi-coloured haze
and safely guides the virgin fascination
that launches out beyond its solid shore
to taste forbidden fruit.
Exploring with a trembling heart
the painful joy that’s hidden well,
creative minds can play their part,
protected by that shining belle,
the golden parachute.
